The best kits from the Africa Cup Of Nations
We have been kit spotting at AFCON 2023 and wanted to share some of our favourites from the tournament!
Nigeria 2022/2023 Home Shirt
In every single tournament, Nigeria show up with an exciting and eye catching jersey. This year is no exception! The 2022/23 home top has multiple hand drawn patterns that spread across the entire shirt. Produced by Nike, the bright green shirt design contrasts perfectly with the white shorts to create one of the best kits on the pitch.
Nigeria have just reached the semi finals of the tournament where they will face South Africa and the winner will go on to play Ivory Coast or D.R Congo in the final. If Nigeria win the competition, it will be their 4th AFCON title; their last AFCON tournament win came in 2013 after beating Burkina Faso 1-0 in the final.
Morocco 2022/2023 Home Shirt
Already an iconic shirt worn in the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, the Morocco 2022/23 Home shirt (manufactured by Puma)is still one of the best kits at the Africa Cup of Nations 2023. Inspired by their 1998 Home shirt, this beautiful remake has reversed the colour scheme to a base of red and a secondary colour of dark green, but the design is almost identical to the 90’s classic.
Incredibly, Morocco were knocked out of the latest edition of the tournament by South Africa in the round of 16, losing 0-2. This was a major shock after the team reached the semi finals of the 2022 World Cup just over a year ago.
Mali 2023/2024 Home Shirt
Here at MFS we have had many Mali international football shirts in stock over the years and the latest kit from AFCON shows exactly why we like them so much. The 2024 jersey showcases a multicoloured eagle on the chest of the shirt with symmetrical talon ‘slash’ marks down the body. We think it’s wild but absolutely brilliant!
Unfortunately for Mali, they will not be lifting the AFCON trophy this time. They did, however, manage to reach the quarter finals which was their best finish since they achieved third place in 2013. They were knocked out of the competition by the hosts, Ivory Coast, in a 1-2 loss.
