Updated: Apr 12

The T90 range is one of Nike's most successful product lines of all time, which included some of the most iconic footballs, boots, and kits. In this article, we will take a look at some of the greatest football shirts from the T90 era.

We start with a kit featuring one of the most iconic sponsorships of all time. Pirelli was the shirt sponsor for Inter Milan for an incredible 25 years! This jersey was inspired by Inter's 1997/98 third shirt worn by the likes of legends such as Ronaldo, Zanetti, and Diego Simeone. The 04/05 season was mixed for the Italian side. They finished 3rd in Serie A but managed to win the Coppa Italia.

Barcelona 2004-2005 Away Football Shirt

This stunning football kit is synonymous with legends of the game, just seeing the jersey reminds us of players like Eto'o, Xavi, and even a young Lionel Messi. The design features a vertical striped pattern that progressively gets thicker, eventually merging into a solid, dark shade of blue. The 04/05 season saw the Spanish side win the La Liga title. Samuel Eto'o finished the season as Barcelona's top goal scorer in all competitions with 29 goals.

When it comes to international kits, not many come close to the beautiful history of Brazil's national shirts, and the T90 home shirt from 2004 is one of the very best. Worn by the likes of Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, and Kaka, the jersey was worn by Brazil as they went on to win the 2004 Copa America, beating fellow South American rivals Argentina on penalties in the final. A special boxed edition of the shirt was released by Nike with a limited run of 5000 copies, each featuring Ronaldo's nameset and number.

One of the most recognizable T90 football shirts is the Arsenal 04/05 kit. The jersey featured the famous O2 sponsorship, a partnership that lasted until the end of 05/06 season. In the Premier League, the shirt featured a beautiful flock nameset that would bear the names of players such as Henry, Ljungberg, and Bergkamp. In this season, Arsenal went on to win the FA Cup and finished 2nd in the league.

Valencia's 2004 trio of kits is one of the best from the entire era, our favourite of the three is the 04/05 third shirt. The jersey's design represents the colours of the Seneyera, also known as the flag of Catalonia, the region of Spain where the city of Valencia is situated. Other Catalan clubs who have featured these colours on their kits over the years include the likes of FC Barcelona and Girona FC. At the start of the 04/05 season, Valencia won the UEFA Super Cup, beating Porto 1-2 in Monaco.

Manchester United 2005-2006 Away Football Shirt

Worn during the season Manchester United lifted their 2nd League Cup trophy, this jersey is another T90 banger! The shirt features a central badge design along with the iconic Vodafone sponsorship. The kit was worn by many legendary footballers, including Wayne Rooney, Ruud Van Nistelrooy, and Roy Keane. United finished the season in 2nd place in the Premier League, 8 points behind 1st place finishers Chelsea FC.

PSG 2004-2005 Away Football Shirt

We always try to save the best till the last! The PSG 04/05 away jersey is one of the rarer T90 template shirts. While PSG jerseys in 2024 are on sale everywhere, the club had a much smaller commercial reach in 2004 before its takeover in 2011. This shirt featured a base colour of red with a singular off-centre dark blue stripe and a sponsorship from former low-cost airline Thomson. PSG ended the 04/05 season in 9th place in Ligue 1.
